You'll also hear about the new play they will be performing at the Black Box Theater at Oxnard College in June. This event is free to all courtesy of the Oxnard Friends of the Library Foundation.

“The Sweetest Sounds: Richard Rodgers and the American Musical”

Richard Rodgers was a legendary influence on the art of the musical theater. He wrote or co-wrote many Broadway musicals and has won countless awards, including a Pulitzer, Tony, Oscar, Grammy, and Emmy. Bruce Collins will tell you about this extraordinary man and draw upon his personal musical collection of over 200 CDs to play some of Rodgers’ memorable classic songs such as “Getting to Know You” and “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered.”

This will be the last meeting of the school year for our Teen advisory club. 6th-11th grade students interested in becoming part of the group next fall are invited to come and meet other students who wish to make the library a great place for local teens. The group helps plan library events and advises the YA Librarian about books, music, and DVDs popular with their peers. Refreshments are always served!

Anti-Bullying Project Flash Mob Dance Rehearsal
