Applicants 13 years of age and older must present one valid photo identification that shows the current residential address. If the photo identification does not show the current residential address, another form of identification with the residential address is required (e.g. current utility bill, mail, or checkbook). For applicants under the age of 18 who may not have a photo identification with proof of residential address, the parent/legal guardian may provide proof.
All applicants under the age of 18 must have their form signed by a parent/legal guardian. The age at which a child may receive a library card is left to the discretion of the parent/legal guardian.
Applicants age 65 years and older receive a senior citizen's status and are not charged overdue fines.
Applicants receiving a library card for the first time are issued a library card with a "new patron" status. Privileges/limitations for new patrons for the first 60 days are as follows:
After 60 days, contingent upon having paid all fines and returned all items, new patron limitations no longer apply.
Applicants (with a current mailing address) but without proof of current residential address may be issued a library card with limited checkout privileges.
After 60 days, visit the Circulation Desk to renew your card. At that time, contingent upon having paid all fines and fees and returned all items due, your status will be changed from that of a New Patron to either an Adult, Senior, Juvenile or Juvenile Restricted Patron. You will then be able to renew material by telephone or on-line and reserve up to 10 items. Lending privileges associated with each classification are as follows:
Adult Patrons (18-64 years of age) and Senior Patrons (65 years and over) may check out up to 50 items*, and Juvenile Patrons (0 to 17 years of age) may check out up to 25 items* subject to the following limitations:
